Samples: Don Cannon vs. 9th Wonder vs. J Dilla

I'd like to start this series off with one of my favorite samples, an underrated soul classic that has been utilized by two of my favorite producers of all time. Here's the original, Billy Paul's "Let The Dollar Circulate"


Here is the first time the song was sampled, by J Dilla, for Steve Spacek's funky track "Dollar":


Next up is 9th Wonder's straightforward flip on it:


The last version's is Don Cannon's production for Young Jeezy's song "Circulate". He didn't really do anything with the sample, but he used a different part for the verses so at least it's a different interpretation of the sample.


Verdict: Personally I love all three flips which vary in both complexity and sound but if I have to choose one I like 9th Wonder's simple but soulful version.
